AN ESF VIDEO TALK WITH MONTESSORI AUTHOR, ERICA MORETTI
”Maria Montessori Advocated for Children, an Education that would adequately support children will be the key to a more peaceful world…
…In 2020 we looked back on 150 years since the birth of Maria Montessori. And as you know, Montessori asdvocated for specific rights for children during her lifetime, and that an education that would adequately support children….
Maria Montessori has changed the world for children, and she is widely recognised for her ground breaking contribution to education, but there is leess recognition on how her vision and practice expands beyond the classroom ~ As an Education for Life and the link between Education and Peace.
Maria Montessori started her work with children from poor families in San Lorenzo, Rome, and she derew attention to the interconnectivity of all humans, with the potential of each child to contribute to a bteter world.
Looking back at 2020, Life has been uprooted for everybody and the pandemic has highlighted inequality globally, and particularly affecting children who are already marginalized.
And taking into account this new reality, we want to reflect on the social mission at the foundation of Montessori’s work; Something that we all share as Montessori Educators.
